Head of Science Department – Shrewsbury (Permanent Role, September Start)
A school in Shrewsbury is seeking an experienced and inspiring Head of Science to lead their department on a permanent basis from September. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated leader to drive excellence in teaching and learning across the Science curriculum.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage the Science department, ensuring high standards of teaching and achievement
Develop and implement a dynamic and engaging Science curriculum
Support, mentor, and develop teaching staff within the department
Monitor student progress and implement strategies to raise attainment
Contribute to the wider leadership and development of the school
Requirements:
Qualified teacher with significant experience teaching Science
Proven leadership or middle leadership experience (e.g. Head of Department or similar)
Strong subject knowledge across the Science curriculum
Excellent organisational, communication, and leadership skills
Commitment to achieving outstanding outcomes for all students
