TARA Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a Shrewsbury based school, in the recruitment of a Music Teacher for a part-time temporary opportunity starting in September. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic Music Teacher who enjoys delivering engaging and creative lessons within a supportive secondary school environment.

The school is a well-respected and welcoming secondary school with a strong reputation for academic achievement, creativity and student development. Staff work collaboratively to provide a broad and balanced curriculum, encouraging students to achieve their full potential both inside and outside the classroom. The school prides itself on its inclusive ethos and commitment to providing high-quality education across all subject areas.

The successful Music Teacher will primarily deliver Music lessons, alongside Drama, with additional Art and PSHE lessons included within the timetable. This role would suit a flexible Music Teacher who is confident teaching across a range of creative subjects and enjoys inspiring students through engaging, practical lessons.

The timetable consists of:

  • Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday – Full days

  • Monday – Morning only

  • Thursday – From 11:15am

The position is initially until October half-term, with the potential to continue through to Christmas.

The successful Music Teacher will have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

  • Experience teaching Music within a secondary school setting.

  • The confidence to deliver Drama, with the ability to teach Art and PSHE being advantageous.

  • Excellent classroom management skills and the ability to engage learners of varying abilities.

  • A passion for creative education and helping students develop their confidence and talents.

  • A commitment to maintaining high standards of teaching and learning.
