Hours: 9:30am – 2:30pm, Monday to Friday
Contract Type: Temporary to Permanent
Pay Rate: £15 per hour
Job Overview:
We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic School Kitchen Assistant to join a friendly catering team in a school setting in Ealing. This is a part-time, term-time role ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and contributing to the preparation of nutritious meals for students. The position is offered on a temporary basis with the opportunity to become permanent for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the preparation and serving of meals in line with school menus
- Maintain high standards of food hygiene and safety at all times
- Support the kitchen team with basic food prep, including washing, peeling, and chopping ingredients
- Ensure kitchen and dining areas are kept clean and tidy
- Wash up and operate kitchen cleaning equipment as required
- Follow all health and safety guidelines and procedures
- Provide friendly and efficient service to students and staff
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a kitchen or catering environment is desirable but not essential
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to work well as part of a team
- Good time management and reliability
- Basic understanding of food hygiene (training can be provided)
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
