Teacher – Specialist Education Setting (Ongoing Opportunities)

About the School
We are working with a specialist provision that supports children and young people with a range of additional needs. The school offers a highly nurturing, structured, and therapeutic environment, with a strong emphasis on personalised learning and emotional wellbeing. With small class sizes and a dedicated multidisciplinary team, staff are able to provide tailored support that enables pupils to make meaningful progress.

The Needs of the Pupils
The setting supports pupils with complex needs, including autism, communication difficulties, and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs. Many pupils benefit from consistent routines, clear boundaries, and a calm, supportive approach. Staff play a key role in helping students develop not only academically, but also in building confidence, independence, and social skills.

The Role
We are seeking committed teachers to join the school on an ongoing basis. The role will involve:

  • Planning and delivering engaging, differentiated lessons to meet individual needs

  • Supporting pupils’ academic, social, and emotional development

  • Creating a structured and positive classroom environment

  • Working closely with teaching assistants and specialist staff

  • Implementing behaviour support strategies and individual learning plans

  • Monitoring and assessing pupil progress

Requirements

  • Experience teaching within primary or secondary settings

  • Strong classroom management and adaptability

  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach

  • Experience working with SEN pupils (particularly autism/SEMH) is highly desirable

  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare

Qualifications

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent

  • Relevant teaching qualification

  • Additional SEN training or experience (desirable)
