Speech & Language Therapist
Speech & Language Therapist
Permanent | Full-Time | Specialist SEND School
We are recruiting a permanent Speech & Language Therapist to join a well-established multidisciplinary team within a specialist SEND school supporting pupils with complex communication and developmental needs.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Speech & Language Therapist seeking stability, professional respect, and the chance to work collaboratively within education rather than peripatetic services.
The Role
As a Speech & Language Therapist, you will:
- Assess and support pupils with speech, language, communication, and interaction needs
- Work with pupils with Autism, SLD, PMLD, and complex learning profiles
- Develop and deliver individualised therapy programmes
- Support AAC and alternative communication strategies
- Work closely with teaching staff, support staff, and families
- Contribute to EHCP targets and annual reviews
- Be part of a wider multidisciplinary team including education and care professionals
The role allows for integrated therapy within the school day, supporting consistency and real-world application.
Who This Role Is For
This position is ideal for a Speech & Language Therapist who:
- Is HCPC registered
- Has experience working within SEND, Autism, or learning disability settings
- Is confident supporting pupils with complex and non-verbal communication needs
- Enjoys collaborative working in an education-based environment
- Is reflective, adaptable, and pupil-centred in their practice
Newly qualified therapists with relevant placement experience are welcome to apply, as are experienced clinicians.
Requirements
- Recognised Speech & Language Therapy qualification
- HCPC registration
- Ability to commit to a permanent, salaried position
- 2 years of professional references
Why Join?
This is a rare opportunity to work permanently within a high-quality SEND school that values therapeutic input as essential, not additional. The school invests in training, supervision, and professional development, offering a supportive environment where therapists can genuinely make long-term impact.
