THE ROLE

We are seeking a creative, enthusiastic and committed Art teacher to join a supportive secondary school in Telford on a temporary basis from September through to mid-October.

This is an excellent opportunity for an Art teacher to inspire students across the secondary age range and encourage them to develop their creativity, practical skills and confidence.

The successful Art teacher will be confident delivering engaging and well-structured lessons while creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Planning and delivering engaging Art & Design lessons.

• Teaching students across KS3 and KS4.

• Covering a range of Art & Design disciplines and techniques.

• Supporting students to develop their drawing, painting and creative skills.

• Encouraging students to experiment with different materials and processes.

• Differentiating lessons to meet a range of abilities and learning needs.

• Maintaining a positive and inclusive classroom environment.

• Assessing and monitoring student progress.

• Providing constructive feedback to help students improve their work.

• Managing classroom behaviour effectively.

• Working collaboratively with colleagues within the Art & Design department.

• Following school policies and safeguarding procedures.

• Contributing positively to the wider life of the school.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

The successful Art teacher will ideally have:

• A relevant qualification in Art & Design.

• QTS, or be working towards a recognised teaching qualification.

• Experience teaching Art & Design within a secondary school environment.

• Strong knowledge of the KS3 and KS4 Art & Design curriculum.

• Excellent classroom management skills.

• A creative and enthusiastic approach to teaching.

• The ability to build positive relationships with students.

• A commitment to supporting students of all abilities.

• Strong communication and organisational skills.

• A passion for helping young people develop their creativity and confidence.
