Teacher of History – Short-Term Supply

Tara Professional Recruitment is working with a well-regarded secondary school in Staffordshire to recruit a Teacher of History for a short-term supply role.

This position is available from 26th January until February half term and will involve teaching History across KS3 and KS4. The role is ideal for a confident classroom practitioner who can quickly settle into a new environment.

About the School
The school is an 11–18 secondary school with a strong academic focus and a positive learning culture. It has been rated Good by Ofsted, with particular strengths in personal development and behaviour. The school promotes high expectations, mutual respect and a calm, purposeful atmosphere, supported by clear routines and well-established policies. The humanities department is supportive, with structured schemes of work in place to aid continuity.

The Role Will Involve:

  • Delivering engaging and effective History lessons

  • Teaching KS3 and KS4 classes

  • Maintaining high standards of behaviour for learning

  • Assessing and monitoring pupil progress in line with school expectations

The School Is Seeking Someone Who:

  • Holds QTS (or equivalent UK teaching qualification)

  • Has recent experience teaching History at secondary level

  • Can build positive relationships with students and staff

  • Is adaptable, reliable and confident in the classroom

This opportunity would suit an experienced teacher or a confident ECT looking for short-term supply within a supportive and well-run school.
