We are now working with a school looking for an exceptional Humanities Teacher to join our education team and deliver an appropriately broad and balanced curriculum to outstanding levels at our brand new residential school.
Available start dates: May and June 2019.
To be considered for this role it is essential that you have a genuine commitment to working with pupils with special educational needs and that you have the passion to encourage positive learning experiences. You will be assertive in difficult situations and will have the ability to adapt your teaching approaches to individual needs, in particular communication adaptation.
You will require •KS3 and KS4 Teaching experience (minimum of 1 year in Humanities) •Secondary Trained (PGCE / OTS/ OTLS) •Ideally experienced in working with children with an ASD diagnosis •Ability to deliver a broad curriculum, from entry level through to GCSE

At the School they will be providing specialist residential and educational placements to children and young people between 10-18 who has an Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) diagnosis, and whilst comprehensive training will be provided, we are looking for people who has experience of working with autism and understand the challenges and barriers that our children will face within an educational setting.

Successful applicants will be required to hold an enhanced plus barred DBS check (which the school will pay for), along with the requirement to provide full and satisfactory employment references and right to work evidence. Please note that having a positive DBS may not automatically bar you from working with the school but a comprehensive risk assessment will be conducted prior to a suitability decision being made.
