Recruiting for Cover Supervisors within Shropshire

For over 17 years, Tara Recruitment have been supporting Shropshire schools with their ever- increasing supply needs. We are currently recruiting for Cover Supervisors for Secondary schools within Shropshire.

Cover Supervisors are needed throughout the whole academic year, both on a permanent and temporary basis; full time or part time and even day to day.

It is a great way to gain valuable practice experience in a variety of different school environments.

Whether you are an experienced Cover Supervisor, or possibly looking at getting a teaching qualification in the future then this is something that might interest you!

About the role…

The role involves the covering of lessons in the absence of the class teacher. The work will be set, and the role would involve supervising the lesson, managing behaviour and ensuring work is completed in the teacher’s absence.

The role is perfect for someone who requires flexibility or someone who is considering teaching as a career but wants to get some experience before taking their PGCE.

Requirements…

  • Previous experience working with KS3 and KS4 pupils – this can include experience outside of schools (youth mentor, instructor, club leaders etc)
  • Hold a degree
  • Display confident classroom management and behaviour strategies.
  • Be resilient, reliable and adaptable to changing environments.
  • Have a passion for education and helping students.
  • Good behaviour management skills

Many of the schools we work with are looking for Cover Supervisors with a proven track record who are willing to make a regular commitment, but day to day flexible work for less experienced candidates is also available.
