Job Summary:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Music Teacher to a partnering school within Shropshire.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for teaching music theory, performance, and appreciation to students of varying age groups and skill levels. The Music Teacher will foster a creative and inclusive classroom environment that encourages students' musical growth and creativity.
Overview:
Located in a Shropshire Market Town, the academy trust school caters for pupils from 11 – 18.
Start Date: ASAP
Timetable: Full Time
Key Stage: 4 & 5
LEA: Shropshire
MPS / UPS
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach individual and group music lessons on various instruments or voice.
- Develop and implement lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and student needs.
- Conduct classroom and school performances, concerts, and recitals.
- Encourage students to participate in musical activities such as choir, band, or orchestra.
- Assess and evaluate student progress, providing constructive feedback.
- Foster a positive, respectful, and supportive classroom environment.
- Stay current with developments in music education, technology, and music trends.
- Assist in organising school music events and performances.
- Maintain equipment, instruments, and classroom materials.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Music Education or related field.
- QTS, or relevant reaching qualifications.
Skills and Competencies
- Ability to teach A Level and BTEC Music.
- Strong understanding of music theory and music history.
- Proven experience in teaching music at various levels (e.g., elementary, middle, or high school).
- Proficiency in playing one or more musical instruments, with vocal or instrumental performance skills.
