Suppporting a Shropshire school in recruiting a PE specialist to start as soon as possible!

We are supporting a partnering Shropshire school in recruiting a PE teacher. Ideally the school are hoping to recruit a specialist to start as soon as possible.

About the school…

Having gone through a recent period of transition, the 11- 16 comprehensive school is now on the move forward, ensuring all pupils have access to first class education. It is strengthening these relationships, through working with the community and will continue to do so over upcoming months and years.

The Role… PE Teacher

Start Date: ASAP

Duration: Rolling

Timetable: Full time preferable

Key Stage : 3,4

Line Manager: Head of Department

Salary: MPS/UPS

LEA: Shropshire

The PE Teacher is responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing high-quality physical education programs for students. The teacher will inspire students to develop physical fitness, healthy lifestyles, teamwork, and sportsmanship through engaging and inclusive activities. This role requires a strong commitment to fostering the physical, mental, and social well-being of students while adhering to the school's curriculum standards and promoting overall student development.

Key Responsibilities…

  • Plan and deliver engaging and age-appropriate physical education lessons in alignment with the school’s curriculum.
  • Promote the development of physical fitness, motor skills, teamwork, and cooperation through a variety of sports, games, and physical activities
  • Adapt lessons and activities to meet the diverse needs of students, including those with physical or learning disabilities.
  • Provide instruction on sportsmanship, personal fitness, nutrition, and health-related topics.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and achievement.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in PE, Education, or a related field (PGCE or QTS preferred).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in teaching up to KS4
  • Ability to create an engaging and inclusive learning environment.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to motivate and inspire students
  • To attend Parents Evening and discuss pupils academic progress and future targets.

Supporting an independent school in recruiting a PE teacher.

I have been approached by a high achieving school to put out the feelers and support in recruiting for a Teacher of PE to start in  January 2025.

The School…

Based in West Midlands, the school provides education from as young as 4 – 18.

The independent day school provides a combination of small class sizes and teaching staff of the best quality.

Pupils travel from Shropshire, Staffordshire, Wolverhampton and the West Midlands to the schools awarded and judged as ‘Excellent’ in all areas by the ISI.

The role… Teacher of PE.

Start Date: January 2025

Duration: Three Terms Fixed Contract

Timetable: Full or Part Time

Key Stage : 3-5

Line Manager: Director of Sport

The schools are looking to recruit a someone to support with PE and teach Games. Whilst it isn’t essential, it is preferable that there is the ability to coach cricket and hockey.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in PE, Education, or a related field (PGCE or QTS preferred).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in teaching up to KS5.
  • Ability to create an engaging and inclusive learning environment.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to motivate and inspire students
  • To attend Parents Evening and discuss pupils academic progress and future targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons that facilitate active learning experiences.
  • Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment.
  • Maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of the school.
  • Apply appropriate disciplinary measures where necessary.
