Supporting a Telford School in recruiting a science teacher to start asap!

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Science Teacher to join their academic team.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging and comprehensive science lessons to students, fostering a positive learning environment, and supporting students in their academic and personal growth.

The Science Teacher will teach science subjects such as Biology, Chemistry and Physics to GCSE Level, ensuring that lessons are aligned with curriculum standards and promote critical thinking and inquiry.

Timetable: Full Time

LEA: Telford and Wrekin

Contract: Supply

Pay: MPS/ UPS

Line Manager: Head of Department


Skills required…

  • Strong knowledge of scientific concepts and principles in Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
  • Ability to plan and deliver effective lessons that cater to diverse learning needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students
  • Familiarity with classroom technology and learning management systems.
  • Effective classroom management and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities….

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality lessons in Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
  • Use a variety of teaching methods (e.g., lectures, discussions, experiments, demonstrations) to engage students with diverse learning styles.
  • Develop and implement engaging and practical experiments, demonstrations, and hands-on activities.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of students with varying academic abilities and learning preferences.
  • Utilise technology and multimedia tools to enhance learning experiences.
  • Develop and update lesson plans that align with the curriculum and educational standards.
  • Create, administer, and grade assignments, tests, and other assessments to monitor student progress.
  • Provide timely, constructive feedback to students on their performance.
  • Maintain accurate records of students' grades and academic progress.
  • Identify students’ learning needs and provide additional support or enrichment as necessary.
  • Establish and maintain a positive, inclusive, and respectful classroom environment.
  • Contribute to the broader school community, including extracurricular activities, science clubs, and school events.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Science, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Education, or a related field.
  • QTS, QTLS, and / or relevant teaching experience
