Seeking a full time science specialist for a partnering Shrewsbury School

Tara are delighted to be working with a Shropshire school and supporting in them in their search for a new Science Teacher looking for their next opportunity in the new academic year!

Based in the beautiful town of Shrewsbury, 11-16 Comprehensive school is very much a school of choice and has been over subscribed for many years.

It’s often commented on the family and friendly atmosphere within the school.

About the role:

Subject: Science

Timetable: Full time

Start: September 2024

Duration: February Half Term

Key stage: KS3/KS4

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Education, or a related field (PGCE or QTS preferred).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in teaching Sciences to KS3 and KS4 pupils.
  • Ability to create an engaging and inclusive learning environment.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to motivate and inspire students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons that facilitate active learning experiences.
  • Instruct and monitor students in the use of learning materials and equipment.
  • Maintain discipline in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of the school.
  • Apply appropriate disciplinary measures where necessary.
  • Supervise and support the work of teaching assistants and other support staff.
