Seeking a Teaching Assistant for Telford and Wrekin school

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at a reputable school in Telford and Wrekin. As a Teaching Assistant, you will provide invaluable support to students aged 11-16 on a one-to-one basis and within the classroom environment.

The all-inclusive comprehensive Telford and Wrekin school are currently going through an exciting period of growth and are looking to expand their current staff.

The school has over 1000 students on roll, and the curriculum allows students to draw on knowledge, understanding and skills developed to prepare for life after their schooling years!

Due to the school’s location, it is easily accessible for Shropshire, Staffordshire and West Midlands applicants.

Responsibilities..

- Provide one-to-one support to students, assisting with their academic and personal development.

- Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons.

- Offer classroom support, ensuring a conducive learning environment for all students.

- Help implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies.

- Collaborate with teaching staff to develop and adapt learning materials to meet students' diverse needs.

- Foster positive relationships with students, promoting confidence and self-esteem.

- Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents as necessary.

- Assist with administrative tasks related to student records and assessments.

- Uphold the school's policies and procedures, ensuring the safety and well-being of all students.

Requirements…

- Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or similar role preferred.

- A genuine passion for education and supporting young people's development.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to build rapport with students and establish positive relationships.

- Patience, empathy, and understanding of students' individual needs.

- Flexibility and adaptability to work effectively in a dynamic school environment.

- Relevant qualifications or willingness to undertake training as required.

-Full referencing and DBS checks required before placing.
